And to let you know how well the Ultra Star 2000 is doing. The 91 is great and runs so cool you can touch it right after landing with no problem getting burnt on it or the pipe. I really like the low sound level. The kids in the neighborhood finally found me out, but it was from the smoke of running it rich for break in and not the noise.

I get it out every chance I can when work will stay out of the way. But it seams like the wind is in 15 to 20 mph range every time I get to fly, but it hasn't stopped me yet, even with it being the first time I have ever successfully flown a helicopter.

The 2000 handles great in the wind and hover is rock solid when the wind is not gusting to 25+. Not sure if I will be able to hover in a calm wind. The only thing I don't like is having to take it apart when I start on the Bell 230 fuse. But the good news is Connie likes the way the turbine sounds so it may be the next one that we do.

16. As for sandy, he's helped me so much. talk about patience! i bug him all the time and yet he always get's back to me with the answer. i was refered to him by my friend/mentor gonzalo, who i have the pleasure of flying with on the weekends.

i say this because finding a vendor, that goes the extra mile is also important. sandy could just sell the stuff and tell ya to go somewhere else to get help. he also doesn't have to put build ups on his web site, basically showing you his secrets while holding your hand through the entire process. the quailty of his scale work (see his dauphin) is why i'm taking my time with my kit and not rushing it. IMHO, if you go with graupner, go with sandy.

18. I just wanted to let your company know that I am very pleased with my Graupner Heim Helicopter! I purchased the Agusta A-109 kit along with the Uni-2000 mech system using the new .91 O.S. motor. Outstanding is all I can say! The quiet operation is only surpassed by the smoothness of the controls.The flying charatceristics are like no other I have flown before and the power and speed if wanted is amazing to say the least. I am definately planning on another fuselage kit for my system as I was very impressed with the level of quality of the fiberglass! I was able to get the model flying quite quickly with little fuss, that's important to me as my next model will have more detail and now I will have the extra time to do it ! 19.Sandy, Thanks for your website!! I just finished up my first scale ship. You inspired me with your build ups to give one a try. It’s a Funkey 46 Long Ranger body with a Raptor 50 in it. You’ll see the Vario Searchlight, Graupner Nav lights I got from you, and using your suggestion, Ram Strobe and rotating beacons. For Switches I used EMS Jomar electronic switches. The Wire cutters are modeled after your build up. I was going to use ABS stock to make them, but kept putting them off not thinking they would turn out very well. The Saturday morning that I decided to do them, you had just posted the build up on brass wire cutters. So it was off to the hobby shop to get some brass.

22. Sandy, Just a quick word of thanks for all the help getting my Ultra Star sorted out. The suggestion on tightening the rotor head clearance worked perfectly! No more wobbles at all. In fact, the helicopter is EVERYTHING you said it would be!

24. Hey folks. I finally reached a point where I could test run the mechanics. To be honest. I was skeptical at first about the design. But boy did I get a surprised. I have fooled around with Schluters, X-cells for about 20 years. Always had vibration problems with them. This is absolutely the smoothes running mechanics I have encountered so far. The accessory catalog is mind blowing as well. I was expecting just a few add-ons but this thing is just crazy. Gonna be ordering accessories for sure. Very happy customer here! Will order another subject post completion of the 412 (maybe the BO 105 or Big Lifter).
